A Community Champion in Action: Joel Runs the Bath Half Marathon for Shenge Children Organisation

When Joel took part in the Bath Half Marathon, he wasn’t only running for personal achievement, he was running to support children with disabilities served by Shenge Children Organisation.

The Bath Half Marathon is one of the UK’s largest and most well-known charity running events 🏃‍♂️, bringing together thousands of participants each year who run 21 kilometres (13.1 miles) through the historic city of Bath to raise funds for causes they care about. By joining this event, Joel turned his run into an opportunity to create real impact for children and families in Rwanda.

Joel set a fundraising target of £1000, and thanks to the generosity of supporters, this goal was successfully reached. This achievement reflects the strong commitment of everyone who contributed to improving access to education, care, and opportunities for children with disabilities.

Although the target has been met, the need continues. Additional contributions can still help Shenge Children Organisation reach even more children and families who benefit from inclusive services and community-based support.

Joel’s effort is a reminder that individual actions can create lasting impact. Supporters everywhere can be part of this mission, whether by running, sharing, or donating.

You can still contribute and help extend the impact:
