On 26 September 2026, Shenge Children Organisation marked an important milestone with the foundation stone ceremony for its planned new construction in Gahunga, Burera District. The event was held in partnership with Rotary Club of Kigali Virunga and attended by the Mayor, Mukamana Soline, and Kayitsinga Faustin, representing the Burera District Security Council.
The ceremony marked the completion of the design and planning phase and the beginning of an important journey towards creating a supportive learning environment for children with disabilities.
Building a Future of Inclusion and Opportunity
The planned project aims to establish a school and support services that will help children with disabilities access education, care, and opportunities to develop their abilities. Through this initiative, Shenge Children Organisation hopes to create an environment where every child feels valued, supported, and included.
For many children with disabilities, access to appropriate education and support services can make a significant difference in their lives. This project represents a step towards addressing these needs and helping children reach their full potential.
A Journey Powered by Partnership and Community Support.
The foundation stone ceremony also marked the beginning of the fundraising campaign to make the project a reality. Achieving this vision will require the continued support of partners, donors, and community members who believe that every child deserves an opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.
Shenge Children Organisation extends its sincere appreciation to Rotary Club of Kigali Virunga, the local leaders who participated in the ceremony, and everyone who continues to support its mission.
As the organisation moves forward, this milestone serves as a reminder that meaningful change begins with a shared vision and collective action.
Together, we can build a more inclusive future where every child has the opportunity to thrive.
